Mom chases down creep who spied on tween daughter in dressing room: 'Not today, buddy'

A mother heroically captured a creep who tried to film her 12-year-old daughter in a clothing store dressing room and footage of the aftermath is going viral.

On Saturday, Salt Lake City, Utah mom Doris Stiles-Scown posted Facebook footage of a man named Jorge Leon-Alfaro, 36, cowering on the pavement of a parking lot surrounded by bystanders after she had chased him from clothing store Rue 21. “This right here is what a predator looks like,” said Stiles-Scown in the video with more than 12 million views. “I caught this guy underneath my daughter’s stall while she was changing at Rue 21. And I had to chase him all the way down, thankfully I got him. Not today, buddy.”

The mom, who had only left her daughter’s dressing room for moments before returning to find Leon-Alfaro under the stall, trying to grab the girl’s legs, continued, “I’m going to make sure your face gets out so that you’re not in any more stalls…I’m going to make sure you go viral. You’re a sick pervert…Do you have kids?” she said, adding, “You’re going to leave a scar on her permanently.”

The mom then vowed to attend Leon-Alfaro’s potential court dates, adding, “Not today, he didn’t get away from this mom.”

A police spokesperson tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Leon-Alfaro was booked into jail on a charge of felony voyeurism and official charges are pending.

Stiles-Scown and a Rue 21 spokesperson did not return Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment, but the mom commented on Facebook that police officers joked with her children that they have “one bada** mom” and compared her to Superwoman. “They said I should come work for them catching bad guys for a living.”

Spencer Coursen, a threat management expert and founder of the Coursen Security Group, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Stiles-Scown deserves praise. “She had the mindfulness and awareness to notice when something was out of place, and the willingness to protect her child,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “Sexually deviant predators are much likelier to target individuals rather than groups, so if a dressing room is not monitored by a designated staff member, it’s best to ask a salesperson to step in.”

On Facebook, most were supportive of Stiles-Scown. However, the mom responded to some who questioned how she handled the incident. “It’s not illegal to record people in public places,” she wrote. “And the video will more than likely help because there are 10 million people watching they are going to want to make an example of the sick bastard.”

Stiles-Scown also wrote that Leon-Alfaro allegedly pulled the same act at other clothing stores.

A few weeks ago, a father named Ismael Duarte was called a hero after he tackled a man for allegedly taking upskirt photos of women, including his 15-year-old daughter, at a Cypress, Calif.-based Target.

“I’m pissed off that I didn’t do more than I did, but I wish I would have, because I’m so angry,” Duarte told Fox 11. “If you’re watching, just know you messed with the wrong family. That’s all I’ve got to say.”
