With most of the world stuck indoors right now, we all have a lot of extra time on our hands. There’s never been a better moment to tackle a tough, but rewarding new project.

And so begins this month’s #PopMechProChallenge.

Starting today, we’re throwing down the gauntlet again and asking you to build with us all month long. Your mission: Build something useful with LEGO, and finish your project by the end of April.

You can use LEGO bricks to create just about anything, from self-lacing shoes to prosthetic arms. And we’re still in awe of our friend Charles Anderson’s recent epic quest to build a 20,000-piece LEGO Star Destroyer.

It took Charles hundreds of hours to design and build his badass LEGO version of the iconic Star Wars ship. Think you can build something better over the next 30 days? We can’t wait to see you try.

Two simple rules: This should be your own brand-new creation, and you should make sure you keep showing off your work in progress on Instagram using the #PopMechProChallenge hashtag.

All month long, we’ll share your builds, answer your questions, and offer our tips. (And we just might have some special guests participate in the challenge, too.)

At the end of April, we’ll pick our favorite projects and include them in the next issue of Popular Mechanics.

So have at it! Let this month’s #PopMechProChallenge begin!
