These four jobs will be in demand in the next years.

Singapore's logistics industry is expected to make over 2,000 Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMET) jobs by 2020 due to the growth of e-commerce. According to a study by Randstad Singapore, the industry is looking to fill specific roles in the supply chain process. It identified four jobs that will be in demand in the next years.

First, Randstad identified the order fulfilment customer service role, which sought after in the Medical Devices/Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences spaces by multinational corporations (MNCs).

Those looking to work in non managerial roles can earn $50,000-60,000, whilst managers can earn $80,000-90,000. Both can expect a salary increase between 10-15%.

The second job for inventory management is sought-after largely by Tier 2 and Tier 3 MNCs, particularly in the same field.

"These companies are actively hiring candidates who possess relevant industry experience, critical analysis skills with zero margin for error and a proven track record of accurate forecasting to targets average. Besides possessing strong Excel and ERP skills, they must be able to understand the market trends very well," Randstad said.

Senior executives can earn $50,000-70,000 whilst managers from similar industries can earn $90,000-110,000.

Meanwhile, supply chain leaders are also wanted in the Medical Device/Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industries to bridge the company stakeholders and external suppliers.

"Candidates with experience in rolling out projects with PMP exposure, regional GMP/GDP exposure with global stakeholders, strong network of suppliers, hands-on exposure to matrix environments and high level of brand ownership will find this role a fit," Randstad said.

Specialists are expected to earn $50,000-70,000 every year, whilst leaders are expected to earn $95,000-110,000.

Lastly, the study mentioned the rising demand for strategic procurement or category & process improvement specialists. Tier 1 MNCs with a global presence are looking for talents for such roles.

"Candidates must have experience in end-to-end tender exercise, a strong network of suppliers/vendors within the same industry and professional reputations across the industry players," Randstad said.

Executives are expected to earn $60,000-80,000 every year, whilst individuals with management experience can earn $110,000-130,000.
