Motorcyclist dead in Scarborough collision, police say

A motorcyclist is dead after a collision in Scarborough on Thursday evening, Toronto police say.

The collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle happened near Sheppard Avenue E. and Atrium Lane. Police responded to a call about the crash at about 7:30 p.m.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle, believed to be in his 40s, was taken with life-threatening injuries to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, police added.

Roads are closed in the area as officers investigate.
