Motorcyclist dies after crash with 4WD and lorry

JEMPOL: An auxiliary policeman was killed after the motorcycle he was riding met with an accident involving three vehicles at Km19 Jalan Bahau-Kemayan here, today.

Muhammad Fazli Dagang, 23, from Felda Lui Selatan Satu, was on his way to work at Ladang Fok Koh when the incident occurred at 2.15pm.

Jempol district police chief Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor said, preliminary investigation showed that the victim had hit the back of a four-wheel drive vehicle, which was trying to make a right turn at a junction.

“The victim couldn’t avoid the 4WD in front of him in time, and due to the impact of the crash, the victim was thrown off his motorcycle. At the same time, a lorry coming from the opposite direction did not manage to avoid the victim and hit the motorcyclist after he fell on the road,” he said.

Noorzainy added that the victim sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.

He said, the lorry driver who had hit the victim had fled the scene and the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
