A14 carriageway reopens after diesel spill cleared

A major dual carriageway has fully reopened following a large diesel spill that left motorists faced with delays of up to an hour.

Highways East said traffic had been stopped at about 05:40 BST on the A14 eastbound, between junction 52 at Claydon and junction 53 at Ipswich.

The eastbound slip road at junction 53, where the vehicle that spilled the diesel managed to drive on to, has also reopened.

Highways East thanked motorists for their patience.

US House passes bill targeting China that would limit EV tax credits
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. House of Representatives narrowly voted on Thursday to approve legislation to tighten rules limiting Chinese content in vehicles qualifying for U.S. electric vehicle tax credits. The House voted 217 to 192 to approve the bill, which has not been taken up by the Senate, to tighten the definition of Chinese components that make vehicles ineligible for U.S. EV tax credits. The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents General Motors, Toyota Motor, Volkswagen, Hyundai and other car companies, said the bill would result in fewer vehicles qualifying and would mean aggressive rules on vehicle emissions and EV targets would need to be rolled back.

When detained in May for riding a motorcycle with no license plates and without having a valid permit, police found a video camera had been mounted on the man's helmet which had recorded how he drove on the rear wheel at high speed.
