Here are some of the movies coming out this week.
Minions
“Minions” is a prequel to the “Despicable Me” series, set 42 years B.G. (Before Gru). It is explained that the minions’ sole purpose is to serve villains. Existing a long time before us, the minions have served notable masters, including T.Rex and Dracula. However, their ineptitude causes them to destroy all their masters and they decide to isolate themselves in Antarctica.
In the 1960s, due to the lack of a master, the minions fall into depression, which prompts Kevin the Minion and two others to set out on a journey to find a new master. Their journey takes them to New York, where they arrive at a villain convention, and compete for a right to be henchmen for Scarlett Overkill, an ambitious villain determined to dominate the world and become the first female super-villain. Starring: Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and Michael Keaton.

Poltergeist
The horror thriller film is a reboot of the 1982 film of the same name, where a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. As the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the family’s youngest daughter, the family comes together to rescue her.

Barely Lethal
Megan, a 16-year-old special agent, fakes her death so that she can experience living a normal life as a high school student. However, she finds out that what she wants isn’t what she gets as she realises that surviving high school is harder than being a special agent. Starring: Hailee Steinfeld, Jessica Alba and Samuel L. Jackson.

Careful What You Wish For
Nick Jonas stars in this thriller movie as a young man who gets himself into the wrong situation when he started an affair with the wife of an investment banker. A suspicious death and a substantial life insurance policy soon throw the unsuspecting man into a scandal.
