KOTA KINABALU: Umno President Datuk Seri Najib Razak has asked party members here to continue being on the ground, listen to the people’s woes and solve their problems.

Wanita Umno exco Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said this was one of the mandates when the Prime Minister met the party leadership in a closed-door meeting here tonight.

This showed that Najib is concerned with the people’s welfare as well as Sabah’s development, said Rosnah, when met after the meeting.

“He is a PM who gives priority to us. Only last month he was in Sabah and he returned this month.

“He is an idol that we need to emulate, who does not sit comfortably in the Peninsular but comes here to see our development,” said Rosnah.

Silam Wanita Umno chief Mizma Appehdullah said the party president has asked them to be alert and prepared, regardless if the election comes early or otherwise.

“He asked every division to identify local issues and for party divisions to overcome them.

“He also wants to see Sabah remaining as a fixed deposit for Barisan Nasional,” she added.
