KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is upbeat on the renewed commitments Malaysia and China have made over the past couple of days.

He said with strong co-operation with China in areas such as information, telecommunication, space technology and science, Malaysia was set to elevate the economic performance to a greater height.

“President Xi Jinping has described Malaysian-China relationship as ‘an opportunity of a lifetime’.

“Malaysia has been the largest Asean trading partner for China for the last five years,” he said in his Facebook page today.

Xi, wife Peng Liyuan and the Chinese delegation ended their three-day state visit to Malaysia and departed for Bali, Indonesia today for the 21st Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum leaders meeting.— Bernama
