Thank you, Vice Ganda.
The daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay has this to say to the comedian for his “Senador agad” statement during the final weeks of campaign.
Before voting in San Antonio National High School in Makati City, opposition senatorial bet Nancy Binay said the buzz over Vice Ganda’s comments against her actually boosted her campaign.
“Actually, pagkatapos nga niyang mag-comment, ang daming nagsabi na: ‘Magpakatatag ka’ na ‘Hindi naman totoo yung sinasabi nila,” Binay told Yahoo! Philippines.
“Nakakataba ng puso kasi meron akong silent supporters. After with (what) Vice Ganda (said), nagvovoice out sila ng support nila,” she added.
Nancy led the Binays to their polling precinct, which was only a few meters away from their home in San Antonio Village, a little past 10 am on Monday.
The senatorial aspirant from United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) said voting together with her family as a political tradition on election day has never failed for the Binays.
“Yesterday, inisip ko na mauna na (bumoto kaso baka) malasin pa (kasi) so far, swerte. Wala pa kaming talo. Why break away from tradition?” Nancy said.
But the University of the Philippines (UP) graduate said the worst is still not yet over for her as she anticipates more tension to come in the next two days.
The mother of three compares waiting for the result of the 2013 midterm elections to delivering her babies.
“Nakakakaba nga. Pakiramdam ko nga para akong manganganak. Dati kasi I was rushed to the hospital at 11 am but nag-deliver ako kinabukasan,” she added
But the vice president is more confident than her daughter. When asked if he feels nervous for Nancy, the Binay patriarch says: “Not anymore. I know she is going to win.”
