Nando's is re-opening 54 restaurants for collection and delivery: Here's the full list

We’ve powered through without our beloved Nando’s chicken for over two months now due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Nando’s closed its doors – along with other restaurant chains – in response to the government’s COVID-19 guidance on 23 March but now it’s back.

The way we enjoyed a Nando’s pre-lockdown isn’t back on the table yet, but it is reopening 54 restaurants for collection and delivery from Tuesday with another 40 announced on Wednesday.

You might’ve noticed that some select restaurants have been open over the past week. This was a trial to check their coronavirus protocols could be put in place on a large scale.

Unlike McDonald’s – which initially opened 15 restaurants in the south of England – Nando’s has spread its openings across London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Belfast.

The food will be prepared following strict COVID-19 protocols, with plans put in place that extend to the delivery drivers, too.

Like many shops going through the re-opening stages, we can expect to see social distancing measures in place for when people go to pick up their orders.

Orders won’t be available over the counter – to stop people having to wait around in their local restaurant – so people will be able to get their peri-peri fix by ordering online only.

If you’re really eager for your order, the restaurant chain is asking people to wait at home patiently until their allotted pick-up time. Again, this will avoid too many people being in the restaurant at any one time.

The menu as we know it will also have a few adjustments to it.

The menus are available online, so anything not available at your local branch won’t be available for purchase when you go to make your all-important first Nando’s order.
