Facebook influencer and constant presence of inspirational vlogs Nas Daily dropped by Singapore recently, and a spontaneous meet-up he organized yesterday easily attracted at least 700 fans, according to The Straits Times.
“I’ve hosted meet-ups in 40 countries or so, but this was the hardest,” he told ST.
The 26-year-old — whose real name is Nuseir Yassin — shot to Facebook stardom after he quit a very cushy coding job with mobile payment service Venmo in New York and traveled the world. Under the moniker “Nas” (Arabic for “people”) and the Facebook page Nas Daily, he pledged to make one-minute videos daily for 1,000 days.
Today, the young Israeli-Palestinian is one of Facebook’s most successful vloggers who can easily clock in over a million views per clip. So much so that he could make a living out of his travels (generating an average revenue of USD80,000 monthly), thanks to endorsements and ads. Yassin’s diehard fans love him for his relentlessly positive vibes, the little-known aspects of the countries he features, and the easily digestible one-minute video format. In other words, a potent recipe for virality on Facebook.
“We have a permit!!”
It was on Tuesday evening that Yassin announced on Facebook that he was in town and wanted to meet his fans the next day. Being a public holiday and all, it attracted hundreds of people to the meeting venue at the Singapore Indoor Stadium — something that wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Singapore Sports Hub. Such massive gatherings wouldn’t be legally kosher here, but Singapore Sports Hub reached out and offered their venue. Other corporate Facebook pages did the same.
The event was a success, according to social media chatter. He fielded questions from fans, and in turn, asked them questions about Singapore. ST reported that he’ll be here for a week to shoot some videos while applying for a visa to Indonesia.

Why I Hate Singapore
The video that resulted during his recent visit here? A clickbait-y clip on why he hates Singapore (because he’s so jealous the country). Watch Nas Daily’s 865th vlog below.
