All National Servicemen to receive $100 NS50 vouchers and more

Every Singaporean man who has done his bit to serve and defend the country will receive at least $100 worth of vouchers, as part of official efforts to commemorate 50 years of National Service.

Distributed by the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the NS50 Recognition Package will be given to more than a million current and former national servicemen. All national servicemen will receive $100 worth of NS50 vouchers and a complimentary five-year PAssion Card membership, while those who are serving or have served Operationally Ready National Service will also get a year’s complimentary SAFRA or HomeTeamNS membership.

The vouchers, which are valid for use till 31 December, 2018, can be used at more than 6,000 outlets islandwide. There are some 270 participating merchants, including Carl’s Jr, Ramen Champion , Krispy Kreme, Cold Storage and Lazada. The vouchers can also be used at all SAFRA and HomeTeamNS clubs to book facilities, register for activities, and extend their membership with the respective NS associations.

The packages will be given out in phases. From mid-May, full-time national servicemen (NSFs) and NSmen who are existing SAFRA or HomeTeamNS members will receive their packages by mail. NSmen who are not SAFRA or HomeTeamNS members will receive their packages from late-July.
