Today is National Wine Day! It's unclear exactly how the holiday started back in 2009, but who cares? It's a great excuse to toast the glorious nectar!

If you were to ask the internet, you'd find a wine holiday happening at least every other week for specific reds (International Merlot Day is Nov. 9), whites (did you catch National Moscato Day on May 9?) and rosé (National Rosé Day comes June 11). But today we celebrate them all.

On that note, holiday-weekend hangouts and summertime soirees are fast approaching. Now's the perfect time to upgrade your sipping accessories, whether you’re a true oenophile or a novice sommelier. Having been an editor at a leading wine magazine, I fancy myself as an expert in the grape world — I’ve tried and tested pretty much every wine accessory on the market.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy wine — from the smoothest way to open a bottle (now on sale) to the best way to save leftover wine for just $18 until it’s time to imbibe again. Plus the prettiest wine tote for nearly 40% off. So update your collection and enjoy a well-deserved drink on this very special holiday.

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)

Raincol Ice Bucket

Just chill — it's on sale! (Photo: Amazon)

In my humble opinion, this is the ideal ice bucket — and it's on sale. It’s made of lightweight acrylic and the handles allow it to be carried with ease. The 8-liter bucket holds five bottles plus ice, so it’s great for parties. Since it’s clear, you won’t have to lift that bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to see how much is left. And what a cool shape!

"Beautiful ice bucket," writes a five-star fan. "The size is perfect for keeping wine chilled, and looks so chic — even though it's note glass. Clear, strong acrylic, perfect size, easy to clean. Our guests thought it was the coolest thing they ever saw."

Wine Bottle Opener Corkscrew Set

Pop that merlot like a pro. (Photo: Amazon)

I’ve used a rabbit-style wine opener for years and it's still hopping. It makes opening a bottle effortless. Just squeeze it around the neck of the bottle, lift the handle and the cork pops right out. This set comes with a foil cutter, wine pourer, wine stopper, and extra spiral. It’s an incredible piece of machinery for the price.

One five-star shopper says: "Fit and finish is quite nice. All the moving parts are metal, and operation is smooth. I’ve now opened a few dozen bottles with this And it has worked flawlessly. Screw drives smoothly into the cork, and the cam mechanism to flip it to extract the cork from the screw has worked every time."

The look of this decanter is perfection, but it also performs. The curvy body aerates the wine well, it feels sturdy in the hand and pours without dripping. I like that it’s made of crystal and that the circular opening offers a nice firm grip.

Happy shoppers agree. One writes: "A wonderful purchase. It’s easier to store, wash and pour from."

Nothing ruins a picnic more than a warm bottle of Chardonnay. Make sure your wine stays chilled with this cute insulated tote. Its interior dividers separate bottles so they won’t break. I adore the stripy style of this bag—and love that you wouldn’t necessarily know it’s for wine. Sneaky.

This case has an outstanding 4.8 rating on Amazon. Raves a fan: "OMG!!! This is the best bottle carry bag EVER. I use this bag to carry two 40 oz bottles and two 24 oz bottles. PROS: Thick material. A divider inside prevents bottles from clanking around. The stiff bottom allows the bag to stay in an UPRIGHT position. Super nice. Shoulder strap as well as a hand strap to carry bag. CONS: Absolutely none."

Note: It's down to just $25 with the on-page coupon (was $40).

OXO SteeL Vacuum Wine Saver and Preserver with Two Stoppers

OXO SteeL Vacuum Wine Saver and Preserver with Two Stoppers

Annoying situation: You open a bottle of wine only to drink one glass...and then the wine goes bad. Wasting good wine is a sin. This gadget uses a rubber stopper and a pump to extract air from the bottle (air causes oxidation, which flattens the taste), to keep the goods fresher longer than a cork.

"These OXO stoppers stay sealed for days, they have a neat pressure-release valve, and they work with the very robust OXO pump," reports a wine-loving shopper.
