NCERT pirated book racket busted by Delhi Police

New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested the mastermind, Manoj Jain, behind the pirated NCERT books racket. A raid was conducted at a printing unit situated at Godown in Mandoli, Delhi and a huge quantity of pirated finished and semi-finished books of NCERT were recovered. A case under IPC and Copyright Act had been registered in this regard. The accused Manoj Jain, the owner of the printing press was absconding since then. Information was received that a publication unit involved in the printing of pirated NCERT books is operating in Trans Yamuna area. A raid was conducted along with the Vigilance Officer and Production officer of NCERT, New Delhi on the publishing unit where the entire setup was unearthed. A huge cache of pirated books and printed material of NCERT valued at approximately Rs 35 lakh had been recovered. Printing paper with watermark of NCERT and latest offset printing machines also recovered from the godown.
