NCIS: LA's Chris O'Donnell Quietly Had His Kids Guest Star on the Show and Everyone Missed It
Chris O'Donnell isn't exactly a family man on NCIS: LA.
But in real life he's the proud dad of five kids—four of who have been on the show!
Chris O’Donnell isn’t the only member of his family to steal the spotlight on NCIS: Los Angeles.
In fact, his wife, Caroline, and four out of his five children have quietly been on the show throughout the years. His youngest, Maeve, was the most recent guest star in 2015, when she appeared with her mom during “Command and Control.”
Lily was on the scene in 2010 during “Callen, G,” alongside her brother, Charlie. Charlie actually played a younger version of his dad’s character G. Callen, according to IMDB. Finley made his debut in 2011, and also reportedly played a young Callen in “Tin Soldiers” and “Lange, H.” His son, Christopher, hasn’t yet been on NCIS: LA but we hope that changes soon.
Though he didn’t elaborate on all of his kids’ experiences, he did share an adorable story about how Maeve, who was 7 at the time, prepared for her big moment.

“She had one little line, and she would rehearse it at home,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “She was a little nervous when she got there, but then she arrived at my trailer and they put a big star with her name on the board.” Aww!
Chris, 49, is a big family man, if that isn’t evidenced by his over 20-year marriage to Caroline, 47. He had six siblings growing up, so he always knew he wanted a lot of children. Now, they happily parent Lily, 20, Christopher, 19, Charles, 16, Finley, 13, and Maeve, 12. It can be chaotic, but it sounds like the actor wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“When I’m sitting in the backyard at the end of the day with a glass of wine, watching the kids having fun and clowning around, for me, that’s what it’s all about,” he told Redbook.
As far as if any the O’Donnells want to follow in their dad’s footsteps, that’s still uncertain. But their brief time on the series is at least a baby stepping stone should they want to make their way in Hollywood.
“I think it’s just great exposure to what else is out there in the world,” he said. “I don’t know if any of my kids will actually end up in this industry, and if they do that’s terrific, but if my children think they’re just going to walk in and have their own television show, that’s just not a reality.”
