The Nest viewers had a brief respite from all the twists and turns and emotional performances when they joyously spotted a Harry Potter reunion in last night's episode.

The compelling BBC One drama follows Line of Duty's Martin Compston and Gentleman Jack's Sophie Rundle as wealthy couple Dan and Emily who pay 18-year-old teenager Kaya to be the surrogate for their child. Despite having concerns about Kaya's mysterious background, they go ahead with the plan using their last remaining embryo.

Last week however, Dan made the grisly discovery that Kaya was found guilty of killing a pregnant woman when she was a child. This was initially discovered by a roving reporter named Eleanor - played by Katie Leung, who starred as Cho Chang in Harry Potter.

In last night's episode, Eleanor goes to meet Kaya's mum Siobhan - played by Shirley Henderson, aka Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter franchise - to interview her about daughter Kaya's dark past. Fans were delighted by the Harry Potter crossover on Twitter.

Despite Siobhan only appearing in the episode briefly, fans are convinced that she is responsible for the gruesome murder which Kaya ended up taking the blame for.

Last night's gripping episode also dropped a major bombshell which questioned the parentage of Kaya's baby. Kaya ends up having the baby early via a C-section after collapsing and being hospitalised.

An investigator points out to Kaya's social worker James that Kaya was in a relationship with former neighbour Kian Dodds - who was found dead in a river at the end of the first episode.

They broke up 25 weeks ago, the exact length of time before her baby was delivered by C-section. Who are the real parents of Kaya's baby?

We can't wait to see how the plot will develop between Siobhan and Eleanor and whether the baby's identity will be revealed next weekend.

The Nest continues next Sunday (April 12) on BBC One at 9pm.
