Glee star Naya Rivera will appear posthumously in Netflix baking reality series Sugar Rush. It's thought to be her final TV appearance before her body was found in Lake Piru, California earlier this month.

According to Deadline, Netflix consulted with Naya's manager, who had been working closely with her family following her death, and together they decided to release the episode today as planned.

It will be dedicated to the TV star "with an on-screen note honouring the actress appearing before the opening credits," reports the publication.

Naya will appear on the third episode of the US baking show, which sees four teams of two compete for a $10,000 prize, as a guest judge alongside Hunter March, Candace Nelson, and Adriano Zumbo.

She filmed the episode in February before the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to all production.

It comes after Naya's ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, who is the father of Rivera's four-year-old son Josey, broke his silence on the Glee star's death.

"Life just isn't fair. I don't know what to say...I'm thankful for our times and our journey that brought us together and gave us the sweetest and kindest smart little boy we could ever hope for," he wrote alongside a photograph of Naya cuddling their son.

Ryan described how he will cherish all the photos and videos he has of her, so that Josey will have them forever. "[He will] know his momma loved him more than life, and how much fun we had together as he was growing up," he shared.

On July 24, Naya was reportedly laid to rest in a private service at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.
