Netflix Reveals Its Top 10 TV Shows and Movies in the U.S. Today
Netflix revealed on Monday that “Love Is Blind” is currently the top title and top TV series on the streaming service in the U.S., while its No. 1 film among domestic subscribers is “The Last Thing He Wanted,” which is also the No. 2 title overall.
That news came courtesy of Netflix’s newly launched “Top 10” feature, which allows users to see the “most popular” TV shows and movies on the streaming service in their country each day via a “row” specifically dedicated to those titles.

“This new row – complete with its own special design – will enable you to see what is most popular on Netflix in your country,” Netflix’s director of product innovation, Cameron Johnson, said in a post published on the company’s blog Monday morning. “It will be updated every day and the position of the row will vary depending on how relevant the shows and films are to you.”
“In addition to the overall top 10 list, you’ll also be able to see the top 10 most popular series and top 10 films when you click on the movies and TV shows tabs,” Johnson added. “Shows and films that make these lists will also have a special ‘Top 10’ badge, wherever they appear on Netflix. That way you can easily see what’s in the zeitgeist, whether you’re browsing by genre or through your personal list – or when searching for specific shows or films.”
Netflix is famous for being incredibly selective about when and how it reviews its viewership data. The streaming service dropped a set of lists of its “most popular” movies and TV shows of 2019 last December, which was calculated based on the number of accounts that chose to watch at least two minutes of a title during its first 28 days on Netflix — despite the fact the streaming service had previously stated it counted a “view” as a user having watched 70% of a show or movie.

A month later, Netflix said it had changed its methodology to measure a view as when a subscriber “chose to watch and did watch for at least 2 minutes — long enough to indicate the choice was intentional.” The streaming service said it “made more sense” to change how it counts views considering the “widely varying lengths” of its shows and movies.
At that time, Netflix also revealed that “The Witcher” was its biggest series debut ever — per this new way of counting a view.
