Fantasy fans, rejoice! Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for Castlevania's eagerly-anticipated third season.

The short teaser promises "bloody chaos" as monster hunter Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) and vampire Adrian 'Alucard' Tepes (James Callis) continue to try and keep humanity safe from blood-thirsty creatures of the night.

When we last saw the twosome, they had killed Alucard's father Dracula alongside Sypha Belnades, a Speaker with powerful magical abilities.

Now, the former seems to be having difficulty accepting that his parent died by his own hand while Trevor and Sypha are left to battle all sorts, from centaur-like beings with crossbows and necromancers to dragons and other winged demons.

In the clip, Carmilla (Jaime Murray) and her new cronies are seen in despair over how many humans are being eaten by other supernatural beasts, while vampires go hungry, as they plot to trap a bunch of them and use them to "drink forever".

Elsewhere, Isaac, the series' central villain, can be heard whispering: "The human race is poisonous and corrupt, and should be wiped off this world. One day, Hell will be emptied and its doors will rattle in the wind."

Fun times all round really, by the sounds of things. Not that Trevor seems too worried, though. "I'm a simple man, with simple pleasures," he smirks at Sypha before going into battle.

Will they be able to defeat evil again this time?

Castlevania seasons one and two are available to stream now on Netflix. Season 3 will premiere on March 5.
