UPDATE: The story has been updated with NETS’ latest statement.

All Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) services across Singapore were down for more than an hour on Friday afternoon (2 February).

In a Facebook post published at around 2.30pm, the e-payment provider said NETS services, including point-of-sales transactions and top-up services, were “temporarily unavailable”.

NETS said in an update at 3.45pm that all services had been restored.

“This incident was not related to any security issues. No personal data was compromised as a result of this incident,” a spokesperson later told Yahoo News Singapore.

“We are conducting a full investigation as to the cause of the disruption to prevent a repeat of today’s incident,” NETS had earlier said, adding that it deeply regretted the inconvenience caused to customers and merchants.
