New GV Bugis+ cineplex is first to have 2 Gold Class Express halls
Notable features include leatherette electronic recliner seats, USB ports, and Spanish Mexican dining
SINGAPORE — Moviegoers will be glad to find out that cinema chain Golden Village (GV) has opened a new outlet at Bugis+ on Friday (10 March).
Located on Level Five, the new outlet takes over Filmgarde, which closed down in the first quarter of 2022.
It will be the first GV multiplex to feature two Gold Class Express halls. Each hall has 40 seats - the most for a Gold Class Express hall, beating out the 32-seater at the Funan outlet.
Notable features include leatherette electronic recliner seats with leg rests that can be adjusted to 90 degrees, as well as a USB charging port. Customers will get the option of single seats too.
A new Spanish Mexican dining concept, AZUL, will also be launched, offering classics such as gazpacho, (cold soup made from blended raw vegetables), patatas bravas (Spanish spicy potatoes) and chorizo sausages.
“We hope that we are able to offer more than just a movie-going experience. GV Bugis+ has the ability to transform into a place where young adults can find a comfortable place to catch-up with friends or where families can get together for parties and celebrations,” says GV chief executive officer Clara Cheo.
Opening deals and fringe activities on 16 March
Patrons using DBS PayLah! for ticket purchases from 10 to 16 March at GV Bugis+ will be entitled to $6 tickets for screenings from Monday to Thursday and $9 for screenings from Friday to Sunday. This offer is limited to the first 250 tickets per day.
On Thursday (16 March), the first 200 patrons to make a walk-in purchase of a minimum of two movie tickets will receive a free goodie bag worth $70. The first 200 GV Movie Club members will also get customised room sprays with a walk-in purchase of a minimum of four movie tickets.
Also making an appearance are 987 radio DJs and cosplayers of popular anime series Demon Slayer, alongside a K-POP Random Play Dance that will be open to the public. Visitors can also try out a free photo-booth and sample dishes from AZUL.
