If social media trends are anything to go by, most of us would probably have tried at least one of the following: churning Dalgona coffee; baking bread or pastries; adopted a few plants; started knitting or knotting; learnt how to brew your own pour over or french pressed coffee; posted photos of your Masterchef creations at home; started your own home-based business; and now, brewing homemade kombucha.

Trends aside, learning how to make something with our own hands is often an exciting endeavour. At the risk of sounding like a New Age Hipster, whether you fail or become good enough to monetise a hobby, the process is what matters, and it should leave you feeling energised and proud of yourself.

What have you been doing in lieu of social activities? If you’re jumping on the bandwagon late, but would still like to learn new things, here are some stuff you might need to kickstart the process. Plus, the 9.9 sale is around the corner on many websites, so remember to keep a lookout for even better deals!

Bake up a storm in the kitchen

Bread is probably one of the oldest food around, with its origin dating back more than 22,000 years. And the fact that bread flour disappeared off shelves during this whole period probably means that many of us are engaging in this age-old activity. Now that bread flour stocks have kind of stabilised, perhaps it’s time for those of us who want to make our own sourdough (or pastry really, we’re not fussed) to finally get our turn.

If you’re brand new to this endeavour, the four items below are pretty much all the tools you need, from mixing bowls to a chopping board that doubles up as a great dough kneading surface!

NRPFELL Bread Making Set (includes banneton, slicing tool, scraper, proofing cloth)
