COVD-19 case regularly took part in Teck Ghee RC group activities: PM Lee
SINGAPORE — A person infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus had regularly taken part in group activities at the Teck Ghee Residents’ Committee Zone J, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Saturday (7 March).
In a Facebook post, he said the person was one of the eight latest cases announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) earlier that day. Lee is the Member of Parliament for the Teck Ghee district, which falls under the Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency.
Noting that MOH is conducting contact tracing operations in relation to the case, he added that those identified to have been in contact with the infected person would be “quarantined or put on phone surveillance”.
“MOH needs to talk to all the members of this group in Zone J. So if they approach you, do cooperate with them and share information fully,” said Lee, who also reminded members of the public to see a doctor and refrain from going to work or school if they are feeling unwell.
On Saturday, MOH announced that it had detected eight new COVID-19 infections, taking the country’s total to 138.
Four of the new cases were linked to a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on 15 February; one was linked to a cluster at The Life Church and Missions Singapore; two were likely to be imported cases; and one was unlinked to any past cases.
