NFL draft: Biggest draft day surprise might have been Darius Rucker being at Trevor Lawrence's party

There was no suspense with the first overall pick in the NFL draft. There was a bit of a surprise involved with the pick though. 

Fans who were watching the broadcast closely noticed ... is that famous singer Darius Rucker at No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence's draft party?

It's unusual, to say the least, to have a more famous figure than the first overall pick hanging out in the background at his draft party. 

And yes, it really was Rucker according to Scott Eisberg of WCIV. Eisberg explained that there was a connection between Lawrence, from Clemson, and Rucker, the Hootie and the Blowfish lead singer who is a well-known South Carolina Gamecocks fan.

Getty Images said Rucker was also there for a Wingstop Feeds the Crave promotion. 

The draft is always interesting, mostly for the trades and strange picks. Having a famous singer photobomb Lawrence's moment when he was drafted, that's a new one.
