Ella Baig, the girlfriend of Nicola Adams, has said she is “not worried” about the infamous Strictly curse after the former boxer was paired with pro dancer Katya Jones.

Model Baig has been dating the double-Olympic gold-medalist since 2018, and she has said she has no concerns “best friend” Adams will have her head turned.

The supposed curse has seen celebrity participants of the popular dance contest end their established relationships after growing close to the professional dancer they are partnered with.

Jones, who was matched with Adams as the first ever same sex couple on the show, herself was caught up amidst the curse after she was seen kissing her 2018 partner Seann Walsh - both later ended their respective relationships.

But Baig is not concerned and told The Sun on Sunday why.

The 22-year-old said: “I’m not worried about the curse. Nicki and me are best friends so I don’t really see anyone as competition and she doesn’t either.

“We did have a conversation about the ‘curse,’ and we agreed I would meet her dance partner so there are no hard feelings or jealousy there.

"Once you find someone you genuinely get on with you can walk past the most attractive person in the world and you don’t even know they are there.

“The grass is never greener on the other side and me and Nicki have a lot of history together, so I don’t think anyone is going to steal her off me.”
