Nicole Kidman has been tipped to star in Netflix's The Perfect Couple, an upcoming murder mystery series from The Undoing director Susanne Bier.

Based on Elin Hilderbrand's best-selling novel of the same name, the six-part series will follow Celeste Otis, a Nantucket local who is about to marry into the wealthiest family in the area (via Deadline).

However, the Fourth of July wedding is ruined when a body is found floating in the harbour – and every guest is a suspect.

Aside from Kidman, Ray Donovan's Liev Schreiber, The White Lotus star Meghann Fahy, The First Lady's Dakota Fanning, Behind Her Eyes' Eve Hewson and Midsommar actor Jack Reynor are also in talks to star.

Bier will direct and executive produce the limited series, which would reunite her with Kidman after the pair worked together on The Undoing.

The project would also reunite Bier with Fanning, who featured in Bier's Emmy-nominated Showtime series The First Lady.

It was recently announced that Kidman will star opposite Halloween's Jamie Lee Curtis in an adaptation of Patricia Cornwell's crime book series about forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta.

Kidman is set to star as Kay, Curtis will play her sister Dorothy, and both will executive produce the show through Blossom Films and Comet Pictures.

"Patricia Cornwell is a bonafide literary trailblazer, and collaborating with her to bring her beloved character Kay Scarpetta to life through the power of television and to introduce her to an entirely new audience is exciting," Curtis said of the project.

Kidman will also star in Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming series Lionness, as well as lead Maya Erskine’s limited series The Nanny Killer at HBO.
