On December 8, the Museum of Modern Art held its 2022 Film Benefit—the 15th annual installment of the event—in honor of the filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. Friends and fans including Jessica Chastain, Richard Jenkins, and MoMA’s Rajendra Roy paid tribute to the Oscar-winning director at the gala, which was presented by Chanel, and were joined virtually by Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Ewan McGregor, and Alejandro Iñárritu, all of whom sent prerecorded greetings.

Guests at the museum’s Manhattan building, including Oscar Isaac, Chloe Sevigny, Jeremy O. Harris, Patina Miller, Alessandro Nivola, and Anna Weyant, enjoyed a preview of the upcoming exhibition Guillermo Del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio—a look at his work on the new film, opening at MoMA on December 11—as well as a live performance from H.E.R.
