Nitin Gadkari Lays Foundation Stone For 4 NH Projects Worth Rs 3612 Crore In J&K

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for four national highway (NH) projects of 121 km worth Rs 3612 crore in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) on Monday.

Subsequently, Gadkari will be assessing and inspecting the Z-Morh and Zojila Tunnel projects the following day on 28th September.

The Baramula-Gulmarg NH-701A and the Vailoo to Donipawa (P-VI) NH-244 are two of the initiatives that were inaugurated by Gadkari during his visit to the union territory.

Both of these projects are worth Rs 85 crore and Rs 158 crore respectively.The work of Donipawa -Ashajipra (P-VII) NH 244 that connects with NH 44 in the Anantnag district at a cost of Rs 57 crore was also flagged by Gadkari.

The fourth concerned project if the 42-kilometer long four-lane ring road in Srinagar on which a whopping Rs 2948.72 crore is set to be spent.

The minister is also slated to visit the Zojila tunnel, whose work was awarded at a cost of Rs 2610 crore, from both the east and the west portals.

Gadkari will be driven through the Z-Morh main tunnel, which upon its completion will be providing all-weather connectivity to the Sonamarg town, Financial Express.
