‘No place for bullying’: Charles & Keith on TikTok user who got mocked for branding bag as ‘luxury’

After online trolls feasted on a TikTok user who called local fashion brand Charles & Keith “luxury,” the brand today showered the user with praises and voiced out against haters.

Charles & Keith told Coconuts this morning that they have connected with TikTok user @Zohtaco, aka Zoe, and commended her for handling the situation well in a spate of videos of her shutting down the mean comments earlier this week.

“Our heart really went out to Zoe when we saw the videos and comments – there is no place for bullying, be it online or offline – but we were so impressed with the grace and humility in how she handled the situation, displaying wisdom far beyond her years and values that resonated with us greatly,” the brand’s spokesperson wrote.

Zoe explained tearfully that her family didn’t “have much” while she was growing up and that the S$80 bag was a gift from her dad.

“Her parents deserve much credit and must be proud to have raised such a grounded, resilient young woman,” Charles & Keith added.

While there were a couple of mean comments, the majority were happy for Zoe which the brand said they were “heartened to see.”

“A community that shows kindness and compassion is exactly what the world needs today and what the brand stands for,” the brand wrote.
