PUTRAJAYA: The Communication and Multimedia Ministry said today there is no restriction on the use of the word ‘Merdeka’ in referring to the National Day celebration.
The people can use terms such as Independence Day, National Day and Malaysia Day to run programmes or events related to the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations to spur the spirit of patriotism, it said in a statement today.
It also said that the ministry, as the main secretariat for the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, also encouraged the people to fly the national flag at their premises to kindle the spirit of patriotism and support the Jalur Gemilang 2018’ campaign.
