New Nokia 3310 is released today: Where can I buy it and how much does it cost?

Nokia's  relaunch of the classic Nokia 3310 goes on sale today, May 24. The nostalgic phone, first released in 2000, has been revamped with more than ten times the battery life, a camera and a colour screen.

For those eager to ditch modern technology and return to the innocent days of text messages, credit, polyphonic ring tones and Snake, here's everything we know about the 3310's upcoming release.

How much will it cost and where can I buy it?

The 3310 will be available to buy in the UK from May 24. It will go on sale at selected retailers including Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone, HMD Global, the Finnish startup behind the new Nokia phones, has announced.

The phone will come with the low price tag of £49.99. The original version first went on sale for £129 and is currently selling as a collectible on eBay for up to £999.

What features will it have?

The new generation of the 3310 is thinner than its predecessor and has a 2.4-inch colour screen. It also comes in four colours: glossy red, glossy yellow, matte dark blue, and matte grey.

It has maintained some of the best features of the original 3310 with improvements including a 30 day battery life on standby and 22 hours of talk-time in one charge. The latest 3310 has a new edition of Snake and 16GB internal storage.

It also has several additional features including a headphone jack, SD card slot, two-megapixel camera, FM radio, and 2.5G internet connection. All these features are packed into a smaller handset that weighs just 79.6g, compared with the original's 133g.

The phone doesn't have Wi-Fi or GPS connectivity and it can't install apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram.
