The MRT train service on the North-East Line (NEL) experienced a delay for about an hour on Tuesday afternoon (3 October) due to a train fault, with service stopping between the Punggol and Buangkok stations.

Transport operator SBS Transit tweeted at 1.31pm that a train fault had occurred. In another tweet shortly after that, it said free bus rides were available at designated bus stops near affected NEL stations.

Commuters were advised to expect additional travel time of about 20 minutes.

SBS Transit said in a tweet at 2.19pm that regular train service had resumed.
