North Korea establishes their own SNSD

31 May – SNSD is known as the "Goddesses of Soldiers" in South Korea as it was said that the girls became the source of morale boost for the lads serving in the military. To this fact, however, it was revealed that the North Korean have also decided to use the same tactics and introduced their own version of SNSD.

Han Cinema website reported that North Korea introduced their very own "Beauty Troupe" - made up of elite entertainers and have been trained extensively since childhood.

It was revealed that the group was created as part of the Pyongyang regime's policy of 'showing-off' – and the troupe consists of "outstanding" beauties from across the country wearing world class designs.

Some of the beauty entertainers were reported to have served as members of the North's cheerleading squad during the 2002 Busan Asian Games held in South Korea.

It was also revealed that that their job will not only be to perform and boost the morale within the military, but also to perform for the privileged class of their country.
