Internet goes wild over name of Subaru's new vehicle: 'Is this real?’

If you happen to purchase Subaru’s new vehicle, just hope no one asks you what kind of car you drive.

That’s because the Japanese automaker’s latest model, unveiled at the 2020 Singapore Motor Show, is called the Forester Ultimate Customised Kit Special edition. Or, for short, the F***S edition.

If that abbreviation doesn’t make sense at first — well, let’s just say it rhymes with "trucks." The NSFW name was on full display at the auto show, with the name even printed in bold on a platform beneath the model.

It’s still unclear whether the name was a critical error or an attempt at viral marketing, but if it’s the latter, Subaru might have already succeeded. Photos of the vehicle quickly went viral on Twitter, with users sharing their shock and plenty of jokes.

"Is this real? did Subaru actually make a car called F**** Edition?" YouTube star Casey Neistat tweeted to his 2.1 million followers.

"Wanna let people know you f***? Get the new Subaru Forester," one Twitter user commented.

"Subaru, are you ok?" another tweeted.

As Autoblog points out, it’s still unclear if the Subaru F***S will even hit the market, as automakers often use motor shows to display potential models. The car does seem to have some advanced features inside, including a touchscreen, a custom audio system and ambient blue lighting to match its striking exterior color.

Still, it seems like the acronym alone is enough for some to go ahead and commit to purchasing the Forester Ultimate Customized Kit Special edition.
