KUALA LUMPUR: The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) bagged two awards tonight at the 16th World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) Asian Media Awards held in conjunction with Publish Asia 2017.
NST Special Probes Editor Farrah Naz Karim and journalist Aliza Shah won second place in the Best Newspaper Feature Article category with their 'Killer Cosmetics' package story.
The report had detailed the dangerous chemicals contained in a host of local cosmetics products.
The duo are also two-time winners of the coveted Kajai Award. NST had broken a 35-year monopoly by Malay-language newspapers when it won the award for two consecutive years.
Besides NST, NSTP's sister newspaper Harian Metro won third place for the Best Newspaper: Breaking News Article category with their 'Pulau Naga Merah' story.
The awards were presented to the winners by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
