Obama, lawmakers meet to talk deficit reduction

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama sits down with congressional leaders this morning to take another stab at reducing the nation's deficit.

House and Senate leaders from both parties will attend the session, as will Vice President Joe Biden.

Later, the president will receive credentials from newly appointed foreign ambassadors. Representatives from the Philippines, Vietnam, the Czech Republic and the Dominican Republic will formally present their papers.
