Odisha by-polls: BJD candidate Rudra Pratap leading after 1st round of counting of votes

Puri (Odisha), Oct 03 (ANI): The counting of votes for by-polls in Pipli Assembly constituency began in Puri at 8 am on October 03. 5 platoons of forces deployed outside the counting centre. Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Rudra Pratap Maharathy is leading after the first round of counting of votes for Pipili Assembly by-polls. Speaking to ANI, Puri SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh said, “In Pipli, we have deployed 5 platoons of forces along with an additional SP and 2 DSPs. We have deployed sufficient force in Pipli and Puri city. Only authorised persons are allowed in the strong room. We are doing intensive patrolling in sensitive areas of Pipli constituency.”
