'Get Off the Plane!': Passengers Chastise Woman Refusing to Wear Mask on Flight

Passengers waiting for an American Airlines flight from Chicago to Los Angeles to depart were almost kicked off the plane, when a fellow passenger refused to wear a mask on September 9, according to an onlooker.

A passenger on the flight from O’Hare International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport recorded this video and uploaded it to Twitter, telling Storyful American Airlines was “willing to kick 200+ passengers off of the plane because one person didn’t want to wear their mask.”

Footage shows passengers yelling at the maskless passenger to “get off the plane.” A passenger asks, “So we’re all going to get off?”

“We stood up to them and told them that we aren’t leaving,” the person who filmed the footage said. “They eventually let the woman off the plane and we continued on with our trip.”

According to FlightStats, the flight was delayed for more than an hour.

An American Airlines spokesperson confirmed there was a customer on American Airlines flight 1024 who refused to comply with the airline’s “face-covering requirement while on board. The customer became disruptive and was met by law enforcement upon exiting the aircraft. The flight departed for LAX thereafter.”

The American spokesperson told Storyful, "We expect customers who choose to fly with us to comply with these policies, and if necessary, we will deny future travel for customers who refuse to do so.” Credit: Anonymous via Storyful
