(Updated with reopening of affected lane)

Another oil spill has happened on Singapore’s roads, leading to the closure of one lane.

The Land Transport Authority said in a tweet at 6.39pm that due to a spillage along Kampong Bahru Road on Tuesday (2 February), the affected lane is closed to traffic for resurfacing.

In a later tweet, LTA said it reopened the lane at 10.25pm after carrying out the resurfacing works.

The latest oil spill was the third such incident in less than a week.

On Monday (1 February), two lanes along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Changi were closed after an accident involving an oil tanker and a tipper truck caused an oil spill.

Last Friday (26 January), an oil spill resulting from an accident involving a palm oil tanker caused the closure of two of the lanes along Bukit Timah Expressway towards Pan Island Expressway, leading to massive traffic jams in Woodlands.
