Ola Electric Sold E-Scooters Worth Over Rs 600 Crore In Just 24 Hours: Bhavish Aggarwal

Ola electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on Thursday (16 September) announced that the company sold e-scooters - S1 and S1 Pro - worth Rs 600 crore in a day after opening the sale for its electric 2-wheelers on Wednesday (15 September).

"We sold 4 scooters every second! Infact in just 24 hours, we sold scooters worth over 600 crores! That’s more, in value terms, than what the entire 2W industry sells in a day! Make no mistake, the age of EVs is here," Aggarwal said in a blog.

He added that Thursday will be the last day for consumers to purchase their Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters.

"Those who have already reserved can purchase until midnight tonight at which point, the purchase window will close," the Ola Electric CEO said.

Ola Electric on Wednesday commenced the sale process of its electric scooters.

The electric scooter is available to purchase on the Ola App only currently, and not on the website.

Ola is starting the purchase in batches, and prioritising users based on their dates of reservation, the company said in a statement.

Earlier, the company was scheduled to start the e-scooter sale on 8 September. However, it postponed the process by a week to 15 September after facing "technical difficulties" in making the website for purchases live for customers, reports Economic Times.
