Olivia Rodrigo didn't know about her chipped tooth until Jimmy Kimmel pointed it out: 'New insecurity unlocked'
Olivia Rodrigo might seem like a perfect all-American pop star, but Jimmy Kimmel is here to poke a few holes in her image.
While showing off the back of Rodrigo's new album, Guts, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night host pointed to the close-up photo of the singer's mouth and said, "On the back you've got your mouth, and a little chip in your tooth there also," observing a slight imperfection in Rodrigo's left front tooth. "You're not perfect after all, it turns out," Kimmel quipped. "How did you get that?"
"You know, Jimmy, I actually wasn't aware that I had a chip in my tooth until this very moment," Rodrigo replied, "so new insecurity unlocked, thank you so much."

Though some social media users were quick to point out the awkwardness of the conversation, Kimmel's "perfect" comment seemed to be a reference to Rodrigo's song "All-American Bitch," in which she repeatedly refers to herself as a "perfect all-American bitch."
Later in the interview, Rodrigo discussed how she originally wrote more explicit lyrics for some of the Guts songs, including "All-American Bitch." She revealed that the line "perfect all-American lips and perfect all-American hips" originally ended with "perfect all-American tits" rather than "hips." She also said that the line "I miss the way he kisses and the way he made me laugh" was originally "the way he grabbed my ass," but she opted to tone down the suggestiveness of the song later in the recording process.
"I love using a swear word when I think it's tasteful and necessary, but sometimes I try to tone it down," Rodrigo explained. "There were a few songs on the album where I was swearing all over them, and I had to pare them back."
Rodrigo will soon embark on her Guts world tour to promote her sophomore album. The tour is slated to include 77 shows across Europe and North America.
