Once Upon A Time star Dania Ramirez has reportedly been cast in new Netflix drama Sweet Tooth, which has Robert Downey Jr.'s Team Downey as executive producers.

Deadline reports that the eight-episode series, which is based on the DC Vertigo comic of the same name, will follow the adventures of a part deer, part boy hybrid child named Gus who leaves his home in the forest only to find that the outside world has been rocked by a horrific event.

He joins up with a group of other animal-children hybrids and humans in an attempt to find answers about this new world and discover how and why the hybrids came about.

The series will also star Descendants 3 star Christian Convery, Game of Thrones actor Nonso Anozie, Killing Eve star Adeel Akhtar and Scoob! star Will Forte, with James Brolin serving as the narrator.

Marvel star Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell will executive produce the series under their Team Downey production company, with Warner Bros. Television also producing alongside Linda Moran and Evan Moore.

Jim Mickle and Beth Schwartz are writing, executive-producing and co-showrunning the series, with Mickle also directing.

Sweet Tooth is reportedly preparing to commence filming in New Zealand this autumn.
