ONE Championship And United Nations Partner For UN75

ONE Championship has been on a tear lately.

Last week, the promotion announced its return to action with ONE: NO SURRENDER before revealing nine new partnerships with global companies including Grab and Microsoft Corp.

But the largest global sports media property in Asian history hasn’t stopped there. On 8 July, ONE announced that it will collaborate with the United Nations (UN) to get more voices heard in the Asia region.

ONE Championship Vice President Miesha Tate, mixed martial arts icon Vitor Belfort, ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan, Japanese-Korean superstar Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama, Indian wrestling legend Ritu Phogat, Thai star Rika Ishige, Vietnamese-American dynamo Bi Nguyen, and Indonesian darling Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol will all leverage their followings and ask fans to take part in a UN one-minute survey.

The answers to the survey will help the UN work toward positive change in the future.

In light of the UN’s 75th anniversary, The Home Of Martial Arts will also host TOGETHER AS ONE #UN75 on 14 July, a webinar that will feature a panel of speakers who will discuss the responsibilities that sport industries – among others – hold as they move into the future.

ONE’s Group President Hua Fung Teh will be one of the speakers.

“I’m thrilled to be participating in this webinar with the UN, a global organization that drives international change and brings communities together,” he said.

“ONE Championship, like the UN, is a values-based organization, and our mission is to unleash real-life superheroes who ignite the world with hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration. We believe in the unifying power of sports, especially in these difficult times, and collaboration with entities like the UN represents our continued commitment to effect positive change in the community via our global platform.”

Hua Fung will be joined by Group Vice President of Marketing at Grab, Cheryl Goh, Regional Business Lead for Philanthropies at Microsoft Asia, Dr. Daiana Beitler, and the UN Under-Secretary-General, Fabrizio Hochschild.

“It is absolutely crucial that we listen better to the concerns of people across the world and come up with effective solutions on how we can bring people closer together, overcome shared fears, and better serve future generations,” Hochschild said.

“Working with a dynamic organization like ONE Championship, we hope that together, we can make a meaningful impact through the UN75 initiative.”

ONE Championship returns to martial arts action with ONE: NO SURRENDER, a closed-door, audience-free event set on 31 July in Bangkok, Thailand.
