Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) powerhouse ONIC Esports Indonesia defeated the Philippines' Blacklist International 3-1 to claim the championship of the ONE Esports MLBB Pro League (MPL) Invitational on Sunday (7 November).

Both ONIC ID and Blacklist International were given direct seeds to the Invitational's quarterfinals as the latest champions of MPL Indonesia and MPL Philippines, respectively.

ONIC ID defeated RSG Philippines and fellow Indonesian team Alter Ego to get to the grand finals.

Meanwhile, Blacklist International outlasted two Indonesian squads in Bigetron Alpha and RRQ Hoshi to earn the right to challenge Indonesia's best in the best-of-five grand finals.

Blacklist International stunned ONIC ID to open the finals, taking a comfortable 14-minute victory behind their signature "UBE" strategy featuring fueled by Johnmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's Estes.

However, ONIC ID were able to quickly bounce back and take game two in just under 15 minutes behind Sanz "S A N Z" Gilang's Yi Sun Shin to tie up the series 1-1.

The Indonesians then proceeded to dominate the pivotal third game of the series, riding a 13-6 kill lead to a 12-minute victory and a commanding 2-1 series lead.

ONIC ID secured the Invitational's title after they outlasted Blacklist International in a chaotic game four. The Indonesians were in control after a slugfest in the early game and were already knocking at their Filipino opponents' base by the 15-minute mark. However, Blacklist International somehow managed to hold the line and mount a counterattack.

Not one to be caught on their heels, ONIC ID caught out Blacklist International before they could properly set up their assault. With their attempt at a comeback thwarted, the Filipinos could do little but watch as ONIC ID took the game and the series victory after 17 minutes of action.

With their victory over Blacklist International, ONIC ID took home the lion's share of the Invitational's US$100,000 prize pool. S A N Z bagged the MVP awards for games two and three while ONIC rookie Calvin "CW" Winata on Chou earned the MVP nod in the championship-sealing game four.

As the champions of the ONE Esports MPL Invitational, ONIC ID are now also the favorites to be crowned as MLBB world champions in the M3 World Championship, which will be held in Singapore this December.
