Only candidate John Lee wins Hong Kong's leadership with 99% support
John Lee, the only candidate in the Beijing-backed race to appoint Hong Kong's next leader, says it is "high time" Hong Kong starts a "new chapter" after receiving 99 percent of the vote from the small "election committee" made up of of 1,461 people. Lee is a former security chief who oversaw the crackdown on Hong Kong's democracy movement, and is currently under US sanctions.
