Oduba, 36, has recently welcomed his second child with wife Portia and told his fellow panellists - Vernon Kay, Mike Tindall and Iain Stirling - how the pressures of work and family life had got too much for him.

Speaking on the ITV show on Friday, Oduba said: "It got to the point - this morning I wasn't sure whether I was going to share this, but because we're here and we're talking about it and I know it'll affect a lot of other people - yesterday, I had my first ever panic attack.

"It completely consumed me, I was on the phone to my agent at the time and I was talking about all the things that were in the diary and I could feel myself filling up with the stress that I've managed away - I'm all about the lists and the diaries."

He described: "In that moment as I was filling up, I couldn't breathe, I could barely speak and this poor girl (his agent) was on the phone going, just breathe and open the window. I just burst into tears."

Oduba had been explaining that his wife was currently on her own at home with both children and that he had been filling up his schedule as much as possible while away on work because he was worried about missing them.

The TV presenter explained that even during lockdown, he had been able to manage any anxieties by doing exercise, but said that this was the first time he had felt overwhelmed.

He said: "That was the first time I felt like I couldn't deal with it and I could feel it coming over me. I thought today was probably the best place to say it."

Oduba admitted: "I wasn't sure whether I was going to tell my wife," saying that he had felt guilty as she had so much to cope with already.

The panel were talking about men's mental health and Oduba's friend Stirling, who narrates Love Island and welcomed his first child this year with Laura Whitmore, praised him for speaking out.

Oduba told viewers: "Your mental health needs to be exercised every day."
