TAIPING, March 19 — A power disruption at the main building of Changkat Jering toll plaza left motorists fuming as all electronic payments were halted.
A PLUS spokesman said the trip occurred at 8.30pm yesterday.
“Tenaga Nasional Berhad has been informed of the matter and they are fixing the problem now,” he said.
“Right now, all toll payments at the three booths can only be made via cash,” he added, noting that there were no accidents at the area.
When contacted, district police chief Assistant Commissioner Harrith Kam Abdullah confirmed the matter.
“My men are on the ground directing traffic,” he said in a WhatsApp message to Malay Mail.
He added the situation was made worse by the high volume of traffic due to school holidays.
Power was restored at 10.15pm, according to national news agency Bernama.
