MANILA — At least 30 were killed while many were injured and are being treated at several hospitals after a passenger bus fell into a ravine in Barangay Capintalan, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija around 11 in the morning on Tuesday.
Pictures of the scene showed the bus was divided into two parts after it plunged into a 100-foot deep ravine.
Rescuers were having difficulty rescuing the victims and have even used ropes to carry up the dead bodies.
Based on initial investigation, the driver of the Leomarick Trans Bus lost control of the brakes while travelling from Isabela to Ilocos Sur.
Authorities are currently identifying the casualties of the accident.
Some of the injured were brought to the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital and Veterans Regional Hospital in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
