KUALA LUMPUR: Police detained 305 individuals on suspicion of being involved in gambling activities in nationwide raids over last week.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the arrests were conducted by the Bukit Aman Special Tactical Squad for Anti-Vice, Gambling and Gangsterism (STAGG).
He said the team also seized 1,946 computers which were used in gambling.
“Congratulations to STAGG @PDRMsia for storming gambling activities nationwide throughout last week, nabbed 305 people and seized 1,946 computers. #GoPDRMGo,” he said in a posting on his official Twitter account.
Khalid said the team also detained 356 guest relation officers (GRO) and masseuses in anti-vice raids nationwide during the same period.
